Wall Street, Vintage Jewels and Military Heritage!

"Irwin and Jordan pulled in a very influential crowd"

Having friends in high places didn't matter as Zoe Jordan's first fully fledged catwalk collection put her firmly on the map. "Irwin and Jordan has cemented its growing reputation as a brand to watch" (Elle.com)

Next year is bound to be even bigger and far more glittery.

Here is a brief look at some of her collection:

  • 1) Slouchy grey knit paired with a fish tailed sequined maxi skirt = fabulous!

  • 2) Red lace dress worn over grey stockings = the new way to wear vintage!
  • 3) Tweed shorts, tweed jacket updated with silk paneling = goodbye country - hello city!
  • 4) Military inspired trousers combined with a silk, jersey tee = relaxed tailoring for everyday wear.

Held, perfectly, in The Haymarket Hotel, Irwin and Jordan's collection was made up of luxurious silks, slouchy tops, tweed jackets, sequined maxi skirts and antique inspired lace dresses. Grazia said "All in all a very pretty and wearable collection"! I couldn't put it any better myself.

Zoe Jordan - we salute you! Get your orders in now, I certainly will be.

The time has come...

London Fashion Week has Arrived

Somerset House this morning was rife with activity as T.V and radio crews, fashion editors, writers and international buyers all assembled for what I believe, will be the start of a very exciting Fashion Week!

I imagine that currently iconic British designers are working alongside emerging talents back stage in a manic frenzies of preparation for their shows.  Last fittings will be taking place, hem lines altered, models chosen and run through's will be all be happening as we speak in order to fully prepare themselves for their moment in the spot light.

With an expected audience of over 5,000 buyers there is a record number of american buyers, as well as some who are attending for the very first time. With such an international presence at LFW, this is bound to be one of the greatest fashion weeks London will have ever hosted!!

I cannot wait to see the creative energy and talent that will be expected to grace the catwalk throughout this week, talking of which I'm off now to see who and what will inspire me this year, so until tomorrow-happy fashion spotting!

Oh and just as a teaser I have added Paul Costelloe's show from this morning to my side bar-happy viewing.

Spring / Summer 2011

 Classic
 Edgy
Effortless
Modern
 Simple and Androgynous
Someone to Watch

Who is Irwin and Jordan?
Zoe Jordan, daughter of Formula 1 boss Eddie Jordan started her brand Irwin and Jordan in 2007.

She is fairly new to the scene however she is already well on her way to fashion stardom. She has been best described as "the boys’ best friend and the girls’ confidante” and my MUST WATCH designer at this weeks London Fashion Week. Last year she won BFC/ELLE Talent Launch Pad for SS11 & AW11 and can now add celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Rachel Bilson, and Helen Christensen to her cult following. Zoe Jordan is making waves and in my eye's is shortly going to be giving high end designers a run for their money this year with lines such as her Spring / Summer above.

Her Designs:
  • Are classic with an edgy twist
  • Modern but with a timeless elegance
  • Vintage whilst remaining fresh and clean
  • She provides androgynous influences with feminine cuts
Prepare yourself to be blow away by Zoe Jordan's creative skills through her understated, effortless designs. Whether it be a Tailored Jacket, Silk Shits Boxy Harem Trousers or a simple T-Shirt her award wining style shines through every piece and speaks to its wearer.

I cannot wait to see the range she will put into view tomorrow at her Presentation and Salon Show!!! Excited is an an understatement, just like the designs.......

See you at 1.45pm sharp. Until then here is a glimpse of whats coming.........

Monday 14 February 2011

What starts on the 18th February and finishes on the 25th...........?

London Fashion Week of course!!

Come on, who's excited, I know its certainly not just me. Each and every year hundreds of designers flock to London to display their designs, praying that each will win the acclaim it deserves and that they will become recognized for their signature style.

Vivienne Westwood.....known for her modern punk twist.

Alexander McQueen.....Known for his bespoke British Tailoring.

Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel......Known for her timeless classic designs.

So, who will it be this year. Which name will leave critics wanting more and placing their names on top of the stock lists for the next seasons cuts.

With over 100 designers flocking to London to flaunt their wears, the race is well and truly on to 'be seen'.
